Yes portability is a key fact  - and code execution. If assemblies need to be registered this could be an issue in a corporate desktop environment.</description>

		<description>I would guess they haven&#039;t worked out how to implement something like VSTA into Office as yet. The portability is a big consideration; I wonder with the new XML file formats introduced in Office 2007 if the VSTA assembly pieces might be loaded into a subfolder within the zipped XML file structure. Ths would give consistent behavior to VBA and to .Net.

MS have to go in this direction, i.e., some improved integration of .Net with Office, because for the vast majority of Office developers, there is no feeling of urgency to upgrade to VSTO and all the baggage that would entail.</description>
